Qn about church?
What should you expect from church?
What shouldn't you?
When do you know it is the right time to move churches?
Why would you choose to change churches (besides that Chris and I no longer go to your church?) - this is assuming that there is nothing big like sexual immorality or the like going on.
Is church shopping a good idea?

Re: Qn about church?
when i evaluate how im going at a church, i usually ask myself 2 questions-
1. how well am i being looked after and being fed spiritually. that is, am i being looked after emotionally/pastorally etc by the church and is the Bible teaching i am getting from the church challenging, inspiring, helping me etc in my Christian walk.
2. how well am i using my gifts in the church/how is my ministry going? am i using my gifts well in useful ministries? am i being under used or over used? is there opportunites to change and develop new ministries/gifts?
if im getting negative answers on both questions i wont start jumping ship to a new church but i will start thinking and praying about what can be done to have more positive answers to the questions. if i feel there is little hope of getting more positive answers then maybe start thinking about moving churches.
there are good motives for moving churches- i moved to guildford anglican because i wanted to go to a local church around granville when i moved down here (although it took 2 years to find the right one). maybe i would move churches if church x stronly needed someone with the gift of being jeremy (whatever that gift is) or because i might feel i needed to exercise a particular gift that forever reason i couldnt exercise at the church i was currently at
just a couple of thoughts

(and being silly for a moment- being at a church for 5 years is definitely a valid reason for moving churches! lol)
