Bateman's Bay
OK, who is keen to do this trip sometime in the middle of the year? (probably between semesters if we can manage it)
I will look into it if there is enough interest.
Also, tell me what you are willing to pay for a weekend at the beach?

Re: Bateman's Bay
I am most certainly up for it, and seeing as how I am unemployed, will do my best to make sure my dole cheque can accomodate. Kidding, I am certainly up for this.
Has an invite to this forum gone to Sam & Heidi? They may also want to come on down to Batemans Bay...

The invite has not gone past us at the moment. I thought I would send invites out over the next week. But I will invite them!
Regarding Batemans Bay trip
Hi all,
Just to remind everyone...the pitched time for this holiday puts us in the middle of winter.
While I'm all up for a holiday to Batemans Bay, lets think about whether this is what we really want. Could be cold days spent mostly indoors, and I love that idea personally...just talking and sharing and stuff...but it may not be what others want.
Anyways, just to get you thinking...
Miguel

Re: Bateman's Bay
well, it is also the cheapest time to go aswell though.
We could look at going to the snow, but I think that would be costly!

Re: Bateman's Bay
Well, you could go to the snow, but in all honesty, in has been my past experience where there is no snow, & it doesnt snow, until I am safely back at home in the burbs of sydney. No really. This Chicken has never seen snow, yet I have been in Canberra on her coldest day & I have been to Thredbo for two days, and there was not even a hint of snow on the ground, but one massive snow cloud, holding on to the snow, saying bwa ha ha ha... this is what you get ----> Nothing! Not that I take this personally, cause I understand the weather has issues. That's okay.
I love cold weather - just quietly. June is the first month of Winter, and 12 days into it, its my birthday. What's not to love!

Re: Bateman's Bay
maybe batemans could be a spring activity- not too cold and not too cold. how bout somewhere inland for the winter trip? somewhere like the blue mountains- or southern highlands (bowral??) for the roughly half way point between sydney and canberra- winter get away spending time indoors chatting and catching up and board games and also visiting cafes etc.
another suggestion of which i thought of half through last weekend was how bout some Bible studies over the weekend- maybe nothing too long or deep and meaningful- just one each morning over breakfast to start the day off

Re: Bateman's Bay
I had thought about the bible stuff but as we hadn't discussed it beforehand I didn't want to force it on anyone.
We will be heading to Easter Convention if people want to come to that with us they can. That is the next trip we will do.
Bowral sounds like a good option for June/July. I will look into it.

Re: Bateman's Bay
What about a Christmas in July type thing someplace in the Blue Mountains?
They always have something going on up there.
Cold weather, log fires, warm hearts.

Re: Bateman's Bay
Just to throw it out there...
Could Jindabyne maybe be an option? I think seeing some snow capped peaks in winter would be uplifting.
A great backdrop to some great fellowship?
Like I said, just throwing it out there...

Jindabyne sounds like a good idea. Though in the middle of winter it may be expensive. I will have a look and see what the price ranges are. I have never been to the snow.
